Cricket World 2011 Player Of The Week -Virender Sehwag

Indian batsman Virender Sehwag has been named the Cricket World Player Of The Week after his blistering innings of 175 on the opening day of the Cricket World Cup 2011.
He scored his runs from 140 balls to set up an 87-run victory over Bangladesh as the tournament got underway in exciting style in Dhaka.
Equalling the score made by legendary Indian all-rounder Kapil Dev against Zimbabwe in 1983, Sehwag, who hit 14 fours and five sixes, helped India post 370 for four. He shared a partnership worth 203 with Virat Kohli, who also scored a century, and 83 with Gautam Gambhir.
He played the latter part of his innings with an injury, although that hardly affected his strokeplay as the Bangladesh bowlers had no answers until Shakib Al Hasan had him bowled via an inside edge.
India then went on to win the match comfortably, despite Bangladesh reaching a respectable 283 for nine.
